Wyoming 2-1-1 Debuts in Southwest Wyoming

Beginning Feb. 1, Wyoming 2-1-1 will be available to residents in Lincoln, Sublette, Sweetwater and Uinta County. This is a free phone service that connects callers to critical health and human services, community resources and government assistance in their community, simply by dialing 2-1-1. Cell phone users may need to call 888-425-7138.

UW Funding Process to Begin

United Way of Southwest Wyoming (UWSW) will be accepting letters of intent (LOI) for grants for the 2012-2013 funding process from any tax exempt organization that serves residents in Lincoln, Sublette, Sweetwater or Uinta Counties.

Golfers Bring in Money for Books

Local businesses and golfers raised over $12,300 for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Southwest Wyoming (DPILSW) by participating in the Fifth Annual United Way of Southwest Wyoming Golf Tournament. The tournament was held Sept. 11 at Rolling Green Country Club in Green River.

Online registration and photo contest

United Way of Southwest Wyoming (UWSW) announced the launch of their Photo Calendar Contest Monday. Benefiting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Southwest Wyoming, residents in Sweetwater, Uinta, Sublette and Lincoln Counties are invited to submit photos of a child(ren) interacting with a book.  After submitting the photo, the picture will be posted online where visitors to the website will be allowed to vote for their favorite picture(s).

Preparations for the 2nd Annual Helping Hands  Day in Uinta County are underway. This United Way of Southwest Wyoming (UWSW) event will be held August 20, 2011.

Helping Hands Day is a volunteer event where teams go out into the community to complete improvement projects for non-profit organizations, senior citizens and persons with disabilities.  Projects typically include facility repairs, renovations, beautification projects and house and yard work.

Truck finalists announced!

The five truck give away finalists were announced Monday. Earl Grange, Troy Williams, Patrick McConnell, Jason Clemens and Christy Mortensen will all be given a key and a chance to start a brand new Nissan Titan at the 32nd Annual Celebration Event this Friday. The person whose key starts the truck, wins the truck!
 
This contest was created to increase donations to the United Way Annual Campaign.  Final campaign numbers will also be announce at the Event. Stay tuned....

Join the Young at Heart Early Learning Center for an informative night for parents on Thurs. March 31 to learn about their curriculum and how they help prepare your child for success in school and life.
