Community Impact

In December 2007 the United Way Board of Directors decided to begin moving

toward Community Impact. United Way is engaging the community by targeting

and investing resources in certain focus areas affecting our community. United

Way is focusing on underlying causes by listening to the community's ideas

about what the critical needs areas are. United Way does not provide direct

service to the public. However, United Way does support several programs and

services providing lasting changes in people's lives such as educational

achievement, access to healthcare and crisis support.  

Community members have come together to create the Community Solutions

Team (CST). Following months of study, analysis and community involvement,

the CST has created mission statements and goals for each focus area that guide

United Way to create change in the human condition at the community level. 

With community partners, United Way also works to ensure that a vast network

of support services for our community are available through funding of core

programs. No one organization can do it alone. It takes multiple partners

working together to achieve permanent results.
